Our client is a dynamic and growing company headquartered in Helmond, currently employing 15 dedicated team members locally. They also manage operations for their German entity, which consists of 27 employees. As the organization expands its cross-border activities, we are looking for an HR Business Partner who can act as a trusted advisor to management and employees in both the Netherlands and Germany.

This is a strategic yet hands-on role for an HR professional who enjoys partnering closely with leadership, aligning HR initiatives to business goals, and ensuring operational excellence across two countries.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a partner to management in both NL and DE on HR strategy, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Advise leadership on employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning to support long-term business growth.
  • Contribute to shaping HR policies and practices that strengthen company culture and align with business objectives.
  • Identify and drive initiatives to improve retention, performance, and cross-border collaboration.

Netherlands (Helmond, 15 employees)

  • Partner with managers on all HR-related matters, from recruitment strategy to talent development.
  • Lead and facilitate the recruitment and onboarding process to ensure the right talent is hired and successfully integrated.
  • Support and coach managers in performance management, feedback conversations, and employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch labour law and internal HR frameworks while also promoting best practices.

Germany (27 employees)

  • Build strong partnerships with local managers to support employee engagement and HR needs.
  • Collaborate with external HR/legal advisors to ensure compliance with German labour law.
  • Oversee cross-border HR matters including employment contracts, benefits, payroll coordination, and local HR processes.
  • Monitor German HR developments and advise management on potential impact.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or senior HR Generalist with advisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labour law and HR practices; familiarity with German HR frameworks is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with leadership and influence decision-making.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch; German language skills are highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance strategic and operational responsibilities.

Preferred

  • HR qualification (e.g., HBO Human Resource Management, PDL, or equivalent).
  • Experience in an international, cross-border, or SME environment.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting where both strategy and hands-on delivery are key.
