Job title: Compliance officer (Junior)

Location: Malta

Overview of the role:

In our Compliance Officer Junior role, you will be responsible for the co-ordination, development and embedding of the compliance framework within our Spanish licenses. The role can be based in Malta.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform monthly Compliance Monitoring following a risk based approach for the Spanish license.

  • Undertake operational compliance reviews of applicable regulations, acquiring evidence of compliance ensuring that they are in line with policy, working with internal partners on any areas of non-compliance and generating regular and routine reports on the same to management.

  • Ensuring internal records and the licence Matrices are maintained and kept up to date by inputting the findings of the monitoring activity and ensuring any new or changes to regulations are reflected.

  • Assisting with license renewals.

  • Assisting in the collation of information to satisfy Regulatory Information Requests and Audits.

  • Assisting the business with queries relating to regulatory compliance for our Spanish gaming license.

  • Working closely (showing flexibility, strong communication skills and being a teammate) with the business verticals to ensure full support in launching new products/features/promotions in compliant manner.

  • Be able to take directions and priorities tasks as required by the business and license requirements as per management instruction.

What you’ll bring:

  • Must be proficient in English and native Spanish speaker with excellent comms skills, both written and verbal.

  • Required to go to the office 3 days a week, following the hybrid working model.

  • Well organized, able to plan and prioritize work schedules and individual tasks.

  • Motivated, hardworking, able to manage self and other tasks to meet required deadlines.

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

  • Experience conducting investigations and/or auditing.

  • Previous online gaming industry background

  • Good understanding of the online gaming and awareness of current global issues affecting online gaming.

  • Good presentation/training skills.

  • Prepared to undertake international travel on an ad hoc basis.

Good to have:

  • Experience of interpreting and applying legislation or regulation within a company context.

  • Experience in compiling information for regulatory returns.

  • Experience of working with regulators, external auditors and inspectors.

  • Exposure to work in a large organization and the ability to interact with partners at all levels, would be great.

  • Experience gained in a professional services business such as a law or accounting firm.
