As an Accountant you will be part of the South Europe Finance Department based in Milan and you will report into the Accounting Manager and dotted line into the CFO – South Europe. You will be responsible for Finance and Accounting activities of our French Legal entities of the Group.
This is a full-time, onsite position requiring attendance five days per week.
What you will be doing:
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company.
- Overview of the automated processes for sales, purchases, AR, AP.
- Non-Trade Accounts payables, prime entries.
- Complete financial reports, lead month-end closing process and conduct monthly reconciliation.
- Support the accounting manager in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closings following local and US GAAP.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying and recording transaction.
- Cash management and reporting, support payment preparation.
- Contact with Tax authorities for audit and special requests.
- Maintain and reviewing financial records, including Fixed Assets Ledger.
- Compliance with local accounting legislation, tax laws, standards and reporting timeliness.
- Intercompany and bank reconciliation.
- General accounting, VAT return, in liaison with local tax and legal consultants ensuring correct calculation of monthly VAT and correct calculation of the taxable income; VAT reports, Journal Book, F24 and other government-related returns.
- Maintain strong knowledge of accounting and finance practices.
- Analyzing new transactions and documenting appropriate accounting treatment under Local and US GAAP and ensuring that it is applied.
- Continuous improvement of processes and controls.
- Support on ad hoc projects.
- Enhancing the tools and processes.
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Finance, Economics or in Accounting and/or has gained extensive experience in a similar role within Italian and international entities.
- Excellent overview of the administrative /accounting as well as the immediate operational autonomy.
- Experience in general or tax accounting.
- Familiar with US GAAP.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, reliability and curiosity.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of excel and SAP.
- Fluent in French, English and Italian.
